Another Round of Needles!
The final procedure was another round
of needling called Subcision or Subdermal Undermining. The process
involves separating the skin tissue in the affected area from the deeper
scar tissue. This allows the blood to pool under the affected scar
area, eventually causing the deep rolling scar to level off with the
rest of the surrounding skin surface. A much larger needle is inserted
under the dermis on an angle underneath the scar allowing the blood to
pool underneath it and push it out. As awful as it sounds, it was one
of the least painful for the procedures and only took a few minutes. I
felt only a slight pin pricking sensation where he was working and the
skin being pulled slightly.
